Well how did that happen? We're nearly at the end
of January already!
As this means Spring is (hopefully!) just around the corner I just
thought I'd share with you some tips for checking your teardrop, wing, sail,
rectangle or feather banners so that you're all set for the start of your event
season.
- Lightly sand the joins on banner poles to make sure they don’t stick and work for many more years.
- To clean your banners use a weak soapy solution to clean your fabrics along with a non abrasive sponge. Make sure that it's all dry before you pack everything away.
- Ensure that any mud or dirt is cleaned off of the ground spikes. Make sure that the team that use your banners know the correct part of the spike when hitting into ground.
- Check that the bags which the banners are placed in are kept free of dirt and mud.
- Always try to put banners away dry and clean. If this is not possible (we all know the British weather!) put your banner up to dry asap, to avoid getting mould on the banners.
- When the banners are deployed check that they are tensioned correctly, by adjusting the cord.
- When putting banners away, ensure that the fabrics are folded in half and then rolled around the poles to avoid the fabrics getting extremely creased.
- Lastly check that you have the correct amount of poles for the banner, nothing is missing and that your logo and brand message is still valid.
